Dr Veronika Poniscjakova

Summary

I am a Deputy Director for the Portsmouth Military Education (PME) Team, and a Senior Teaching Fellow based at Royal Air Force (RAF) Halton.

I joined the PME team in May 2019, initially teaching at RAF College Cranwell, and since August 2020, I have been based at Halton.

Research interests

I completed my PhD in International Relations at the University of Nottingham, where I researched political violence in Israel. My research and teaching interests include:

international relations
conflict and security
war and politics
military strategy
Israel and the Middle East
Ukraine
NATO
political violence and terrorism
right-wing political ideology

I am willing to take PhD students, and I am happy to receive informal enquiries relating to research in any of the above indicated areas.

I make regular appearances on international broadcast media, often discussing the situation in Ukraine.

Teaching responsibilities

I am teaching on five courses currently offered at RAF Halton.
